This clip is AWESOME!!!! WWE Superstar The Miz threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Tuesday’s Cleveland Indians game. As the video shows, he’s not half bad. The pre pitch interview, also below is a great listen for the wrestling fan as Miz talks about not remembering much of his Wrestlemania 27 match with John Cena and The Rock due to a concussion, being a lifetime Cleveland Indians fan, and bringing a championship home to Cleveland, and shares his thoughts on the C.M. Punk storyline.
Washington Nationals prospect Bryce Harper has hit his first Home Run in Double-A. The seventh inning blast came off of Bowie Baysox pitcher Michael Ballard. Harper went 3-4 for the Harrisburg Senators on the afternoon raising his Double-A batting average to .250. He has a combined 15 Home Runs between Low-A Hagerstown and Double-A Harrisburg.
Cleveland Indians journeyman pitcher Justin Germano threw a nine inning Perfect Game for the Columbus Clippers over the Syracuse Chiefs on Tuesday night. It is only the 5th Perfect Game in the history of the International League. Germano struck out seven batters including Corey Brown looking at a fastball over the inside corner for the final out. Final line was 9IP, 0ER, 0H, 0BB, 7K, WIN. Germano was up with the Indians briefly earlier this year, pitching 12.2 innings out of the bullpen.
Check out the video of the final out of Germano’s perfect game, the post game interview, and the celebration in the Columbus Clippers Clubhouse.
This pretty entertaining. A fan gets out onto the field during a St Louis Cardinals vs New York Mets game at Citi Field last week and makes the four security guys chasing him look absolutely foolish as they are unable to tackle him for a good 40 seconds. When they do finally catch him, they take him down hard. The video also shows just how far away the nose bleed seats truly are from the field. Warning: Mild profanity at the end of the clip.
This is pretty cool or pretty scary depending on who you are. The Norfolk Tides home game against the Gwinnett Braves was suspended due to rain in the first inning. This wasn’t your garden variety rain storm as the video below shows. Fast forward to the 1:40 mark where the action starts to pick up. It really gets crazy at the 2:25 mark. WARNING: Some profanity in the video as the weather gets more and more intense.
This is the coolest thing you will see today. The guys at Oliver Padilla Studios took a time lapse of AT&T Park during a mid-July San Francisco Giants from the opening of the gates until the last fan leaves. It’s over five hours of baseball cut down to just over two minutes. It’s really cool. You can follow Oliver Padilla on twitter @OliverPStudios
This is about as random as it gets, but too funny not too post. Looks like former big leaguer and current Arizona Diamondbacks Triple-A manager Brett Butler had one of his old home movies hit YouTube last night. In it his son cranks a line drive that hits Butler in the groin. Any father can relate.
The Northwest League handed down suspensions for the July 11th brawl between the Spokane Indians and the Vancouver Canadians. Spokane’s Santo Perez and Jose Monegro will sit for three games.
