Florida resident Dennis Schrader recently set the Guinness Book of World Records record for most autographed baseballs. His collection which you can see in the video below is amazing. He has been collecting signed baseballs since the 1950’s and houses the collection in a giant vault that he built his Odessa, Florida home around.
In a promotion that will go down as a dog gone success, the San Diego Padres are the new Guinness Book of World Records holder for the record of Most Dogs In A Costume Parade, as 337 dogs in costume paraded around the Petco Park outfield before the Padres game with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday night. Check out the video of the July 27, 2011 record setting parade below.
In an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records, the independent league Brockton Rox will sell an $80 Hot Dog starting on July 23rd which happens to be National Hot Dog Day. The dog will be a half pounder, deep fried and rolled in truffle oil, coated with porcini dust, sprinkled with white truffle shavings, and topped with creme fraiche, caviar and fresh roe. The previous record for most expensive hot dog is $69 at the New York City restaurant Serendipity 3. On the field, the Rox are managed by former Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner.
UPDATE: They only sold two of the hot dogs. Link contains a picture of the hotdog.
