Tony Gwynn Led San Diego State Baseball Team Dresses Up For Halloween Scrimmage

This is pretty cool. As many know, Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn is the head baseball coach at San Diego State University. Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg is one of the many who has played under Gwynn at SDSU. The latest crop of Aztecs players participated in a Halloween scrimmage over the weekend in which each player got to play in their costumes in front of a good sized crowd of fans. In the middle of what would end up being a 47-16 season that culminated in a trip to the College World Series, the Cal State Fullerton baseball team participated in Mustache March. Each player grew a mustache as a sign of team unity. They all kept it, except for Josh Fellhauer who shaved his. He gets a lot of grief for that move in this video which features many of the Fullerton baseball players on a team that included current prospects Gary Brown, Christian Colon, Jared Clark, Khris Davis, Nick Ramirez, and Noe Ramirez among others. University Of Pennsylvania Baseball Players Start Go To Bat For Cuba To Baseball Gear Cuban Youth

A pair of Cuban Americans and University of Pennsylvania baseball players, Derek Vigoa and Adrian Lorenzo, have started an organization called Go To Bat For Cuba which is collecting bats and other baseball equipment to donate to youth players in Cuba. The Harwich Mariners swept the best two out of three Cape Cod League championship series winning the 2011 Championship over the Falmouth Commodores. In the video North Carolina State pitcher Chris Overman gets Alex Swim of Elon to pop up for the final out. As soon as the catcher makes the play, the celebration ensues for Harwich. Falmouth had made a cinderella run through the playoffs after finishing 19-25 and losing 7 of their final 10 games in the regular season.
