Mini Mega Tickets Are Pretty Cool

I was fumbling around the MLB Shop and came across something called the Mega Mini Tickets. They are 200% blowups of tickets from a bunch of historic major league baseball games. There are major events like World Series and All Star Games but also tickets from individual games like Nolan Ryan’s 5,000th strikeout, 6th No Hitter, and 300th Win, Derek Jeter’s 3000th Hit, Roy Halladay and Dallas Braden’s perfect games and a whole bunch more. There are about 100 different ones available. They run about $20 each but you can use the MLB Shop promo code INSIDER15 and it takes them down to $17. They also make Canvas Mega tickets that are about a foot wide and three feet tall. MLB Shop has the Canvas Mega tickets for $99, but I was able to find them for $79 on FansEdge.com and they’ve got a 10% off coupon code RETALMER. I’ve linked to both the Mini Mega Tickets and the Canvas Mega Tickets at the bottom of this post.
The FansEdge folks also have a whole pile of autographed stuff as part of their clearance sale which is worth a look. It’s hit or miss, but there are some good deals mixed in, the autographed stuff starts a few pages in. They’ve got a couple dozen autographed jerseys in the $75-$100 range that are among the best deals. The RETALMER code works on all that stuff too.

Blue Jays Prospect Travis D’Arnaud Talks About His Breakout 2011 Season

Who has had the best season by far of any of the Philadelphia Phillies prospects acquired by the Toronto Blue Jays in the Roy Halladay trade? Nope it’s not Kyle Drabek or now Houston Astros first baseman Brett Wallace. The best player to come from the deal is Travis D’Arnaud who was recently named the MVP of the Eastern League as a member of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. The 22 year old catcher who arguably underachieved in the Phillies organization has a breakout 2011 batting .311 with 33 Doubles, 1 Triple, 21 Home Runs and 78 RBI’s and has put himself in position to challenge for a roster spot in Toronto. Our friend Dave Gershman who is a must follow on twitter @Dave_Gershman, recently caught up with D’Arnaud who talks about his breakout season, learning from former big league catcher Sal Fasano who is now his manager, and being highly respected among the Blue Jays top pitching prospects for the job he does behind the plate. It’s a great read.
