VIDEO: This Is What A Canadian Summer Collegiate League Brawl Looks Like

This is from back in July but I just came across it today and thought it was post worthy. The Western Major Baseball League is a Canadian collegiate summer league whose most famous alum is Milwaukee Brewers pitcher John Axford. Things got heated in this game between the Medicine Hat Mavericks and the Okotoks Dawgs after the Mavericks leading hitter Joel Lutz was beaned for the second time in the game. Once benches clear Dawgs player Deaun Williams comes off the bench and begins throwing haymakers. It’s a quick but rather action packed brawl. The action begins at the 1:25 mark of the video. Lutz talks to Chat News about the brawl following the footage of it.

VIDEO: San Francisco Giants & Philadelphia Phillies Brawl On Friday Night

This folks is a good one. The San Francisco Giants and the Philadelphia Phillies got involved in a high quality brawl on Friday night. Shane Victorino who had hit a Home Run earlier in the game was hit in the back by a Ramon Ramirez pitch. Victorino stepped towards the mound, Giants catcher Eli Whiteside whipped off his mask and glove and started bobbing and weaving towards the on coming Phillies bench. From there it was on. After a lot of pushing and shoving and grabbing and clawing, the brawl seemed to be simmering down. That’s when Victorino broke free and dove back into the fray sparking more mayhem. Ramirez, Whiteside, and Victorino were all ejected for their role in the brawl. (Will get the video up on this post once MLB.com lets me embed it.)

Northwest League Suspends Four Players & Fines 51 After Spokane Indians & Vancouver Canadians Brawl

The Northwest League handed down suspensions for the July 11th brawl between the Spokane Indians and the Vancouver Canadians. Spokane’s Santo Perez and Jose Monegro will sit for three games. Rougned Odor who helped initiate the fight will sit for four games. Matt West, who was video taped throwing sucker punches was suspended six games by the league and had an additional four games tacked on by the parent Texas Rangers for a total of 10 games. Additionally a total of 51 players from both teams were fined an undisclosed amount of money. Raw video of the brawl can be seen below via KREM.com
