Jarrod Parker & Justin Upton Signed Cleats Going Bonkers On Ebay

Recently traded to the Oakland Athletics, former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Jarrod Parker (KEY ROOKIE: 2008 Bowman Chrome) has teamed up with former teammate Justin Upton (KEY ROOKIE: 2006 Bowman Chrome) to help raise money for the Dayton Classics baseball organization in Ohio. Parker originally posted a pair of his signed cleats from the 2011 season on Ebay, which as of Friday morning had been bid up to $150. Then Friday afternoon, Upton tweeted from his official account @RealJustinUpton “The highest bidder for @JarrodBParker ‘s cleats will also get a pair of my cleats autographed as well. Bid now”. Well as you can see by clicking the link below, people have been bidding. The auction has more than doubled and is now well over $300. The auction ends Saturday afternoon. Pretty cool stuff. Mini Mega Tickets Are Pretty Cool

I was fumbling around the MLB Shop and came across something called the Mega Mini Tickets. They are 200% blowups of tickets from a bunch of historic major league baseball games. There are major events like World Series and All Star Games but also tickets from individual games like Nolan Ryan’s 5,000th strikeout, 6th No Hitter, and 300th Win, Derek Jeter’s 3000th Hit, Roy Halladay and Dallas Braden’s perfect games and a whole bunch more. There are about 100 different ones available. They run about $20 each but you can use the MLB Shop promo code INSIDER15 and it takes them down to $17. They also make Canvas Mega tickets that are about a foot wide and three feet tall. MLB Shop has the Canvas Mega tickets for $99, but I was able to find them for $79 on FansEdge.com and they’ve got a 10% off coupon code RETALMER. I’ve linked to both the Mini Mega Tickets and the Canvas Mega Tickets at the bottom of this post.
The FansEdge folks also have a whole pile of autographed stuff as part of their clearance sale which is worth a look. It’s hit or miss, but there are some good deals mixed in, the autographed stuff starts a few pages in. They’ve got a couple dozen autographed jerseys in the $75-$100 range that are among the best deals. The RETALMER code works on all that stuff too.

VIDEO: Insanely Rich Man Has Insanely Awesome Baseball Memorabilia Collection

Denver attorney Marshall Fogel has one of the most impressive collections of baseball memorabilia in the world. Among his items are the framed poem that Lou Gehrig was given on Lou Gehrig day at Yankee Stadium, countless numbers of game worn jerseys and bats, and the triple crown of Mickey Mantle cards, the 1951 Bowman, 1952 Topps, and 1953 Topps all graded PSA 10 and worth close to $3 Million just by themselves. Babe Ruth’s daughter once wrote him asking for some of her father’s stuff back. Even many of the items in the Yankee Stadium museum come compliments of Fogel. In the video below, Fogel takes CNBC Sports Business reporter Darren Rovell, @darrenrovell on twitter, through his insanely vast collection. It’s an awesome watch.

Man Sells One Of The First Autographs Mickey Mantle Ever Signed

In 1949 Mickey Mantle was just another minor leaguer making his professional debut with the Class D Independence Yankees. The future Hall Of Famer batted .313 in 89 games that season. Jack Brownlee was six years old that season when he had Mantle sign his Independence Yankees program. In the story link below which includes a video, you can see the autograph and here Brownlee tell the story of obtaining it in the small Kansas town.
